ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Commerce was established in the academic year 2014–15 with the vision of providing quality education in commerce and management studies. Since its inception, the department has been committed to nurturing competent, responsible, and socially committed commerce graduates capable of meeting the demands of the modern business world.
The department is strengthened by a dedicated team of four faculty members, including three regular teachers and one part-time lecturer, who strive to create a vibrant academic atmosphere through innovative teaching and mentoring. The department offers the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Degree in Co-operation, one of the most sought-after programmes in higher education today.
The programme is designed to provide students with a strong academic foundation in commerce, accounting, finance, taxation, banking, management, and co-operative principles. Along with theoretical knowledge, the department gives equal importance to practical exposure, skill development, and value-based learning to prepare students for professional and entrepreneurial careers.
Apart from regular classroom teaching, the department actively organizes seminars, workshops, conferences, guest lectures, industrial visits, management meets, business talks, and training programmes to enhance students’ academic and professional competencies. Various co-curricular and extension activities are also conducted to develop leadership qualities, communication skills, teamwork, and social responsibility among students.
The department encourages students to think creatively, act ethically, and adapt confidently to the challenges of the globalized business environment. Through continuous academic support and student-centered learning, the department aims to empower learners to achieve academic excellence and professional success.
